Here in part 2, 3 artworks will be discussed from the Uffizi Gallery.
The Ognissanti Madonna is a painted piece by Giotto. Media used was tempera, size 10′ 8″ x 6′ 8″, and was made between 1306-1310. This piece originated from the Ognissanti Church in Florence. The style is an alter piece, and it has a religious/spiritual representation. Those within the painting are life like, but many have halos around them to emphasize their grace. The artistic elements used were line to construct where the figures are sitting in the alter like form, which leads to the use of form to make the alter almost 3 dimensional, color even though muted was still used to bring attention to many areas of the work, and space which was utilized to emphasize the difference between those seated in the alter and those standing at the bottom of it. Artistic principles used are balance which is evident by how there are three figures with halos standing on each side of the painting, unity because all the elements and principles used have come together to show an all over balance, and pattern which can be seen at the bottom and top of the alter with a repeating design. This piece represents a mother with a child, specifically of Jesus and his mother. With how the mother and child are displayed among the others within the painting, the artist was emphasizing the impact the child and the mother had on many saints and others looking upwards at them. https://artsandculture.google.com/asset/the-ognissanti-madonna-giotto/OgE-RDjvff-y6g
The Sacrifice of Isaac is a painted piece by Caravaggio. Media used was oil on canvas, size 46 in x 68 in, and was made between 1603-1604. This piece represents when God tested Abraham to kill his own son at which he had at an older age. It was a test of his faith. It shows the moment where as he is about to kill his son, a angel stops him who was sent by God. Elements used were line especially used to emphasize Abraham's age, value as there is a light to dark contrast throughout the work, and color which the artist used to emphasize for example the lightness of Isaac's skin to show innocence like an angels, compared to the darker complexion of his father. Principles used were movement where we can see Abraham holding his son down and the angel speaking with him to stop what he is doing, proportion of the human figures compared to the building in the back of the painting, and a balance of light in the front of the painting, and dark in the back. It is as if the artist not only wanted to depict the scene itself, but also say that people cannot be trusted and people's faith is not always strong.

The Equestrian portrait of the Emperor Charles V is a painted piece with artist somewhat unknown but attached to Van Dyck, this is unclear. Media used was oil on canvas, size 132 in × 111 in, and created around 1620. The work was once seen as very famous, but many started to see the weaknesses of it most likely from not having live forms to base off of. It is believed that it may have been produced for an ancestor or to mimic and represent of pieces of works as well. Elements used were color where the red is emphasized among the rest of the darkness, form which shows the greatness of the horse at with the figure sits, value with light and dark contrast among the painting, and line to provide detail to the figures clothing and the horses muscles. The principles used were movement at which the horse is not standing still, and proportion of the figures in the front compared to the background of the painting. The artist tried to convey a power to the figure upon the horse. This resembles a painting of Napoleon upon his own horse. Napoleon was exaggerated which may mean this may be an exaggeration of Charles V as well, and the Charles V painting was a stepping stone for many artist to use throughout the years.
